Title: Sold the Stone - was my favorite ride!
Post by: Cave on May 18, 2016, 07:56:59 AM
Forty-five years of riding, 130k miles overall on a dozen Japanese metrics without a junker in the lot but the only Euro bike in the lineup was my 2004 Goose... and it was my favorite ride... love the handlebar rock and roll at idle, the gnarly but neighbor friendly exhaust sound, and the torque pull up around 4 grand... but... aint' there always a "but".

An artificial ankle and other health issues forced me to decide... keep the Stone and let it collect dust or part with it.  I found an enthusiast locally through Craig's list and passed on "Hi-yo Silver" to him, along with the Windjammer.  Helped him trailer it and then watched it disappear into the sunset.

Also, I have a couple men's Large t-shirts, one is like new, the other is slightly stained (not unsightly, but would make a good "shop" shirt) for free, write me at caveluther@verizon.net if interested.  All I want is a little help with postage.  Ride on, Cave

I always liked the  looks of the windjammer on your Guzzi, Cave, I hope you are doing well.

Oldbike54: T-shirts are gone but I've got hundreds of jpegs to help me reminisce.

Rick, thanks for the well wishes.  I am doing well, and same sentiments to you.

Best to all,
Cave

Does this mean you are having to give up bikes entirely or can you handle a lightweight?

I found a low mileage '78 Honda CB750a (The "a" indicates automatic).  I can ride it for the time being as there is very little left foot shifting needed.  And with shorter shocks I lowered it enough to sit flat-footed when idle... important since my tungsten ankle can't flex much or bear much more weight then my already generous 250#.  A Convert would do as well but the "A" was local and affordable.

From 1971 through to about 1986 I had Hondas alongside my 350 Matchy.

Sold my GB400 and ended up with the Breva.
