I'm in the local shop, buying a new battery for the Breva, when a sales person comes up and asks if I'm riding a red Suzuki Bandit (my other bike) and I say yeas.. "Someone just knocked your bike over in the parking lot." I bought the bike as a crashed write off, back in 01 when I worked in a bike salvage shop and put it back together with various bits, but still, you don't want to have your bike knocked over! Older guy, swung way wide pulling into a space and nearly hit a few bikes. He stayed, and we ordered some parts on his credit card. Some stuff I'm just going to live with and touch up as the bikes not worth much, so why get insurance involved. Glad he owned up to it and didn't take off. Headlight pod (which is off a Honda) is back-ordered till July! The GIVI fly-screen is on order, Oxford bar end mirrors were in stock. The Converti-bars clip-ons swung in (and dented the tank) but were un-damaged, thankfully as they are $$$$. On the plus side, I traded a new dent in the tank for a Guzzi battery!

Yes, we never want out bikes knocked over or damaged in any way, but I applaud your positive and realistic attitude.

Had a Pastor back into/knock down my 1979 Bonnie, I was on a trip out of state. He came looking for me in restaurant and fessed up. We made phone calls and tallied up damage costs, he began to look pale. Non riders can't believe the costs of motorcycle parts!
Let him off the hook somewhat, and limped her home.
Oops, sorry for religious content..

The dude that runs MG cycle (they call him cheese head) backed into my Tiger @ the Wisc. rally, it knocked over a BMW and the beemer squished a dudes tent. It tore up a few things but we all had a good laugh!

My Eldo had always pulled a little to the left, it was the triple tree. After a few years I found a straight triple tree. I had bought 3 or 4 that were as bad or worse than mine during the search. Rode it to work, it was PERFECT! Fly down the road straight as an arrow.
At work a customer comes in and says "That your bike out there? Some guy ran over it." He was a well known prankster but not this time. A guy had backed directly into the front wheel and flipped it over. The guy settled up with me fairly through his insurance.
Sigh.
So the search for a straight tree began again. I had ridden it 3 miles........
I still hate parking lots to this day.
Hunter
P.S. I did find another thanks to Denis.

Yes, this is true. Those guzzis can't take the pressure of knowing they've been outmatched

I think he was on a t3 if I'm not mistaken. No field sobriety test was given. We were all too hammered!
