I just picked up a 1984 V65SP (had one many years ago- missed it dearly) I pulled the front wheel off this morning to get a new tire- - when I removed the axle the spacers and washers fell to the floor- I did not see the order that they were in_ Please help. I have a xerox copy of a manual but it just says remove the axle observing the order of the spacers. TOO LATE!! PLease help!

Ok, if it's the same as the Lario, and I would expect it to be..
Looking from the front: Axle (well greased) slides in from the right, through both wheel bearings..then thin washer, speedo drive, thick washer, then the left fork leg.
Welcome to WG, btw. Nice scooter.
Edit:
Oh, while you're at it, clean and lube the speedo drive or you'll be buying a new one some day. If it's notchy, take it apart and fix it while you still can.

okay- but what about thick spacer- the one that is about 1/2 wide? I am guessing that goes between the speedo drive and the fork leg- I don't know where the thick washer goes on relation it IT. Thanks for your help.
I'd rather be riding .......

and the torque setting for the front axle? the book says 9 KGM which converts to 65 ft/lbs- but that sounds a bit high- (compared to my BMW's- 35ft/lb) thanks for all your help

Looking at the parts breakdown of the V65GT, I don't have the SP.. the thick one is between the speedo drive and the fork leg. At the very worst all you'd have to do is put the bare axle in and the calipers on to see where it needs to be spaced. When you say thick washer, you aren't talking about the one under the axle nut are you? <scratching head>
Tighten the front axle nut "until you fart." (Roperism) It's not rocket science, although the BMW torque seems low to me.
