Title: Bore hole size for 850 round barrel crankcase
Post by: guzzista on May 25, 2016, 05:47:10 PM
Greetings . Does anyone know the bore hole measurement on a 850 round barrel . Upcoming 850 top end rebuild on a friend's 850T3 and was thinking about using  modded G5 barrels and pistons I already have  in order to keep it economical. If you  machined down a similar set of barrels that measurement would help too. Cheers

Surely someone must have turned down G5/ Vert or SP barrels to fit into 850 round barrels. Would be nice to get some measurements before tearing down...Anyone ?

An Eldorado case has a 94 mm opening for the cylinder, the "spigot" of the cylinder itself is 93 mm.

I bored mine for a 992 kit many years ago. I didn't recall the numbers but I am sure the agostini spigots (aluminum) have a bigger OD than stock 949 iron cylinders. Manfred Hecht told me to make them .020" bigger but I think .005-.010" would be fine.

Thanks, Charlie!. ( Pete, I just wanted to fit the barrels to the case without tearing down the engine to expand the bore holes).
