Title: Free pecan wood in E. Texas
Post by: Texas Turnip on May 27, 2016, 05:54:46 AM
I have lots of pecan wood that is good for grilling. I'll even help you load it. Might even cut it in the length you want. Hate to burn it, but I've got to get this mess cleaned up.

If that's storm damage, sorry to hear.

I'll tell you what, it may be great for grilling, but it is a beautiful wood for putting on a lathe to make artwork.  If I weren't a thousand miles away...

Steve.

Sorry about that, TT.  Losing a tree was always a sad day back on the farm, whether it produced or not.  Losing all of them is unimaginable.

I only use a designer charcoal from a fancy schmanzy store out of Arkansas called wal something or other. And a apple tree cut down out of Helen's yard next door with a rechargeable saws all, must be a dewalt

Sorry to hear about the storm damage Ken.  Lost a yard full of mature pecan trees when Hurricane Alicia came through town years ago.  Wish I were closer, I'd come give you a hand.

The closest thing we have to a nut tree is wild Black Walnut trees and Hickory Nut trees. There are Peanuts East of here though.

Ken sorry for the loss of your trees, hate to lose any tree.

I've been burning the remains of two of our huge pecans here for two years. One of my standout favorite woods. I wish it were closer.

Thirty years ago Tex would have delivered a load of that wood on his Cal 2 to the Ozarks just for kicks and if he wasn't busy cleaning up after the storms, it wouldn't surprise me if he did it now. Hope it's going as well as can be expected, Tex ,
