Title: Road Atlas
Post by: Jose Mendez on May 28, 2016, 11:42:11 AM
I am looking for a good road atlas the show roads outside the mayor highway and toll roads. There are mid-size mad large print which would be good for my failing eyes.

Any suggestions before I make the Amazon pludge?

DeLorme make really good atlases for all the states individually. Most have all the road and condition listed along with all the Parks, campsites etc.

Visit the RV forums, they have tons of resources for that, especially since you specified printed versions.

Both Good Sam's and AAAs RV/Truck atlas does very well. I prefer the Good Sam's. I like the idea that they have both a lot of detail and are very easy to read.

I like the AAA maps too.  Have not tried the Good SAM's.

Love Delorme...... But get em while you can; I understand they're shutting down their map division since they've been bought by Garmin.....a real loss IMHO

At $20 bucks a pop, this could get expensive.

Ok, the entire country for $650 bucks.

Thanks for the information.  I have found a National Geographic Adventure Road Atlas at a local grocery store. I like the map but not the price.  It has many of the back roads I had plan to take and others that I am considering. Looks like this is it.

Jose...have you looked at Butler Maps - specifically made for Motorcycles.  Great stuff.

Looks like your Burgundy Cali is getting ready for Oregon - saw it at MPH the other day along with Greg's V7...Dr. Larry had both of them on their respective operating tables!!

Hey Paul,  Yes She's getting a look over by our Honorable Resident Doctor. I'll pick her up on Monday. Gives me a week to change the fluids and pack her smartly.

I'll look into the Butler Maps.

Guzzistajohn: Thanks for your 2nd.

We have a dedicated road atlas for motorcycles in Australia that also provides commentary on the top 200 rides. Its by Peter Thoeming, compact and gets updated pretty regularly.

They're not 'atlases' per se, but have a look at Michelin regional maps. I use them when I travel to give me a good overview. Spread 'em out on a picnic table at lunch, decide where to go next. For finer detail, I'm a GPS guy, have been since the 90's.
