And I'm still walking upright :thumb:

I used to ride my triumph thruxton to the bennington bash. 900 miles in a 3 day weekend with clip ons and rear sets.
I changed to handlebars last year when I retired
-
Kirby1923 rides a lot further than that on his CX and he's about 70 now. :azn: My CX sits partially apart, even with clip ons & an euro touring handlebar.

Yes but Mike is no ordinary man. Maybe the most interesting man in the world. But he has been known to ride into town for beer and bring back non alcoholic :boozing:

Well, he drinks beer or wine when he's around me. :undecided:

He is only 68 , sheesh , don't make him sound old  Yeah , he rode the last 420 miles into Cedar Vale this year on Fri , then rode the 180 miles with us to Augusta Ks , we got a bit lost on the way back .
Glad you got out John :bike-037:

Did he tell you he's 68? He told me he was 67 2 years ago. That would make him 69 now. I think someone is fibbing. He calls me the old guy `cause I'm 72. :undecided:

Which of your bikes are you referring to? If it's the MZ Tour, my `2000 Tour didn't come w/clip-ons. I used to tour on my CX w/clip-ons but that was 20 years ago.

Hmmm. I must boast here. 10 bikes! Daytona, plus 3 other Guzzi's and a few 125cc 2 strokes. Nary a one without clip-ons. After a 400+ mile day I now need @ least a full day to recover or take something to ease the groaning. Do the math, 1934.
BTW:This could not be accomplished w/out the rowing machine. R3~

Way to go, John!

OK, I agree, a Lario is very doable. So was my LeMans IV I did some touring on 12 years ago w/16" front tire. For me it really comes down to the figuration of the bike as a whole. That and the weight of my helmet.

That was my only street bike fro 89 to 06. I've just been spoiled by the tiger for awhile

Any weekend your ready home boy! I did 125 but not quite all the way to the ferry :bike-037:

Sneaking up on to 60 and it's the ergs of my '82 Katana and '95 Sport that lend themselves to long distance for me.
It's not toughness or discipline but rather that I am simply, significantly more comfortable in a forward lean than a rearward slouch or sit-up-and-beg Prussian pose.
My Calvin flat wears me out and is absolutely not a lifelong keeper if only for that reason.
Todd.

That's a nice ride....Can you join us in Council Grove this weekend?
-
I'm ok with it too, it's just been awhile since I put a few miles on her. I love the old gal!

Probably not. If I have riding time it's hard to justify going to Kansas when I can be I jasper in 90 minutes
-
Understood....I just need to get away...
