With no Norge or Stelvio in the lineup
If these bikes were to be replaced with variants on the new 850 small block engine...
well that would be like bringing back the Breva and Quota,
wouldn't it?
or would it not?
-
Would not.
Quota 1100 ES and Breva 1100 were sales pigs.
Quota was heavy, underpowered, over geared (way too tall), and had terrible aerodynamics.
Breva was introduced to compete with the R1150R just as that bike was discontinued. They sat on the floor for years.
Now, if the names were re-used on some all-new bikes in the small block lineup, well that would be different.
But why re-use those tired names ?

Is anyone using the Thunderbird name right now ? :laugh:

Maybe Guzzi should bring back the Convert.
TOMB
-
Thunderbird?
Yup. Triumph still makes it.
-
Quota updated with a V9 motor and wet weight less than 480 lbs.
Next should be the Gambalunga. with a bologna slicer --- of course

You would think they could come up with something better than "stone" and they have kinda worn out US state names, Cali, Nevada would you ride a guzzi Alabama?
-
With a current line-up named 'Roamer' and 'Bobber', the next two may as well be called 'Oozer' and 'Farter'.

Sorry I mis-quota'd myself, more an 850 v65tt, so make that a Vee-Nine-tee-tee (V9tt or v90t it could get confusing) 850 2v ~ 650 4v in any case no carc enduro styling what ever such a bike would be called it would be kind of like a v65tt but without the snapping valves to wory about.
Breva was sold as a 750 small block and both 850 and 1100 big block so really its like Guzzi wanted an 850 small block in the first place.
750 breva was popular bike but always down on power a bit. 1100 breva wasn't much different from a Norge. 750 Breva was more different from the 1100 hmm now Im confused by Guzzi logic if the two entirely different Brevas can both be Brevas does that make an evolution of a 750 breva to 850 not a breva but a Norge to follow the confusing double act? well probably no because the fashion these days is selling variants of the same bike as different bikes, since when was it ever selling completely different bikes with matching plastic bits and the same name, oh MG don't do that again.

It allmost sounds like a handful of Italians sat in a room thinking "what would the americans like? what sounds American?". This is a shame since they could litterally come up with the most unimaginative name as long as it was in Italian.
due pneumatici= two tires
milleduecento=1200
spogliato=naked
quello veloce=the fast one
Avena=oats

A small block Quota or Stelvio would be great.

What do we want? Cafe Racers? Nah.
What do we really need? Dirt Choppers!
