Title: Anyone in the Seattle area with a B11 with aftermarket exhaust?
Post by: Doppelgaenger on June 02, 2016, 11:50:25 AM
Hi everyone, I'm considering getting an aftermarket exhaust for the Breva, but I'd like to be able to ride one with the exhaust on it first to see if I like it.

Do any of you up in the Seattle/Tacoma area have one that you would be ok with allowing me to ride? I will ride with you prior if you like so you can get an idea of my riding style.

Just trying to get a feel. I love being able to hear the intake noise and not sure if I'll appreciate that being drowned out by a loud exhaust.

Much to far away for you to come and take a spin.  But I can tell you the Mistral aluminum oval can I run is not loud at all.  I really like the sound without the db killer in, but unfortunately, the motor runs better with it in, so in it stays.

It is only slightly louder than stock with it in, with the emphasis on slightly.  I also pull the crossover off, which on the Breva contains the cat, and replaced it with a free flow Mistral, all from MG Cycle.

I have an aftermarket exhaust on my 1200 Sport (way too far away for you).

I can barely hear the exhaust, when I get on it the intake honk is way louder from the riders seat than the exhaust is.

My opinion is that if you can hear your exhaust while riding and it's loud to you, then it is way too loud in real life and you are probably a nuisance to people on the street.

I had to put about 50K on the Mistral on my 1200 Sport before it developed the tone I was looking for.
Finally, it has a deep HONK when I twist the throttle.
It was much too quiet for much too long.
