V9 looks very nice, and reviews on its comfort are favorable. I wonder if it would fit a V7?

It will "fit", but the seat relief cutaway area at the back of the V7 tank will look ugly with the slimmer V9 seat.

I didn't think of that. Maybe a good upholsterer could work up something like the V9 that fits the V7 tank. This summer I'll check in to it. Anyone know a good seat guy/gal in San Diego?

I think someone on the forum had a V7 seat reworked in the V9 style but later sold his V7 with original seat. Then he sold the modified seat to another forum member.
I also would like a flat seat so I could slide back a bit when I felt like it.
Seller or buyer of that seat please chime in.

The frame of the V7 angles up at the back, under the passenger's seat. The V9's does not. So I would expect there to be a problem fitting a V9 seat to a V7.
This observation is based on looking at the parts diagrams.

I"m not seeing that.
We've had pictures posted here on WG of a V7 seat on a V9.

Well, here is what I found. The V9 is from AF1's web page; I forget where I downloaded the V7's catalog from.

The kick-up of the rear of the frame on the V7 and the straight rails of the V9 seem pretty clear to me.
