Title: 2012 griso roller issue?
Post by: oranges3 on June 04, 2016, 06:20:06 PM
is there a vin number series that defines exactly what 8v griso motors had the old rollers and not the newest parts installed?
i am looking at a 2012 griso tenni green and really need to be sure that this bike did not require the roller conversion.
any help would really be apprecited!!

See other post. AFAIK none of the Tennis came with rollers. While there was a VIN# changeover point listed somewhere I know for a fact that it's accuracy is *Rubbery* as I've had flat tappet bikes with later VIN's through my shop! Just ask the owner to take a rocker cover off and take a picture of the cambox and end of the rockers away from the valves and send it to you. The two set ups are completely different visually.

Sounds like from the other thread he's got two versions of the story:

1. Roller fix was completed by guzzi dealer in Jacksonville.  If so he could send you a copy of the paperwork that said "transformation kit A or B on it.
2. The dealer in Jacksonville told him that the "roller" issue only effects 2009-2011 bikes.  Not true.  There are no known Tenni green Griso's that are not flat tappet bikes to include 2012 Tenni Models.  Also the Griso 8v was sold in 2008 and the dealer would know that.

Like Pete said the safest way would be to pop off a cover and take a picture.
