Title: 600 Mile 9 Year Old Griso
Post by: Dave Swanson on June 12, 2016, 08:30:41 AM
I am not sure how this happens, but if anyone is looking for a LOW mile 2V Griso, this might be the ticket.

I would ask if the dash was replaced, many early ones were.

Is that a chicken-egg thing?  Dash hasn't been 600 miles, so it hasn't failed, or dash failed and was replaced so it reads only 600 miles...

I have no connection to this bike, but after studying the photos I would bet the mileage is legit.

Maybe he did 550 miles worth of burnouts.

My griso dash was replaced under warranty by the po at 400 miles for fogging issues. Should be on record at at dealer if it were done under warranty. In my experience, when something is too good to be true , it always is. Also sitting can be worse that riding in many cases. Hope it finds a good home, after all, it is a soon to be priceless carc model.

Checking the date codes on the tires would be a good "tell"
Should still have 06 or 07 date codes if it's the original rubber

Certainly looks like an extremely low miles bike

I've been itching a bit for a Griso. It's about an hour from me. May get busy and look into it. Is this year cursed with the rocker issue? What years are affected?  Thanks!

No, the tappet issue only affects 8V motors 2008-mid 2012.

Sometimes low mileage bikes need lots, like the 98EV I'm on now at the shop. 2900mi on it and needed fuel pump, 1 injector, breather hoses, batt, clean heavy rust out of tank, petcock, gas cap didn't work, LH cyl had no compression (rusted intake valve), had to spank the valves to get the thing to run. The cost to make it run is near what it's worth.

The seller likely has an unused helmet to go with the bike and the rear brake pads may be due for replacement.
