At that price, looks like it's going "back to the barn" for another 40 years.

Title status: Missing. You can restore it and never be able to register it. Push that machine back into the barn.......please
-
Register it in Vermont for around $150, most states recognize their registration as proof of ownership and will issue a title. No big deal...

I live in Flint. I sent a kind note to him telling him he was way out in left field when this ad first popped up. No response of course.
I'm fairly certain this is the same guy I bought my '78 CB750 from a few years back. At the time he showed me a Convert peeking out from under a pile of junk. He sold it cheap (the 750) 'cause he couldn't figure out 4 carbs. It turned out the float seats were badly corroded, and 'someone' had turned one of them upside down to apply more pressure to the needle. That's been fixed and otherwise its been great. Haven't had the heart to go back and show home how well it runs.

Charlie how to you go about doing that if you live out of state?

VT doesn't care if you're not a resident. You can find all of the forms on the VT DMV website and Greg Bender has information on his website as well:

If you don't want to deal with it yourself, these folks will do it for you, nearly as cheap especially if you do more than one:

This one is actually in MI not NJ as the heading states. A lost title can easily be filed for it here. The seller should do it though. If the price were agreeable and I wanted it, I have a LEO run a stolen vehicle search on it. If clean, buy it and apply for the title.

I've titled two bikes in VT. All they care about is the tax dollars. Mailed my registration and plate straight to NJ. Not sure how long that will last here with the DMV. At a minimum, you have a legal vehicle in VT, and can keep te-upping their registration. I've gotten tw NJ titles out of it.

Utah is very easy.....bill of sale, police inspection that checks serial number and stolen vehicle reports.
Pay sales tax and registration and it's done, they mail a new title in a short amount of time.
