Title: low rpm adj

Navada. 750. Model. 94. When is cold  difficult to adj low rpm 1200. Wheh engine get. Warm all OK rpm stable. Why.  ????

Idle is supposed to be adjusted when the engine is at it's operating temperature. When they are cold, some of them idle poorly.

I think he's saying that the bike won't hold an idle cold -- he has to keep it revved up.  Once warm it behaves.  He's asking why it won't idle cold.  I know nothing about the bike.  I can't help.

Yes.  I had the same "problem" with my Sport 1100 and its stock carbs.

Incompetent "dealer" set the idle cold while it was in for a service.  Then it idled at 1800 rpm when warmed.  He couldn't figure out "why".  I asked if he'd warmed it by riding it before setting the idle, and he looked away, looked at the ground, then admitted that he didn't.

So, I ended up setting it myself.  Rode the bike and got it thoroughly warm, then set the idle to 1050 rpm hot.  No, it wouldn't idle without the chokes or throttle for a little while upon startup.  It would cough and die. 

Anyway, the OP needs to accept that a carbureted, air-cooled v-twin will not idle well on initial cold startup.  The bike's idle should be set warm.  The small blocks need to idle at 1200-1300 warm.  So, he'd going to have to use the choke and his right hand on the throttle for the first couple minutes after startup.

After you get the idle set...pick up a Craftsman combo high idle/cruise control at Sears for four or five dollars...works great.....
