Title: So I bought the Stelvio...driving light question...
Post by: radguzzi on June 18, 2016, 07:37:17 AM
Well I made the decision and went with another Stelvio.  I truly enjoyed the '09 and the upgrade to the '14 will hopefully be equally exciting.

The right side driving light does not work and I would like to know what to tell the dealer just what the issue is...

I opened the back of the light unit and found that the protective covering over the lead to the bulb was worn through in one spot as if grounded possibly and the wire broken away from the bulb carrier.

No big deal,  soldered the wire back and still no light...

The bulb appears to be replaced carrier and all... the bulb does not just slide out of the carrier.. does that sound right to you..?  I think it had been monkeyed with at some point but it is hard to say for certain.

At any rate, I need to tell him whether I either need him to replace a bulb or a fixture.

I appreciate any assistance here.

Best,
Rob

There is a spring clip that holds the bulb in place. That is what should be there. If not then, as you suggested, someone messed with it.

Yeah, that was in the body of the light as was the bulb.  I told the sales fellow about it and they are going to make it right.

This rig is just as I remembered from the'09 and better.  I will install a set of Rox Risers, possibly narrower bars, the new map and we're good.

Thanks John Henry,
Rob

Hey Mark,
Glad to see that you found your way here.  These characters are a great bunch.  Good news on the V11, swing by and we can try that taller solo saddle out for those long legs of yours.

Let's go for a breakfast ride sometime...

One of these days Norm, this rig was made for some of the roads out there...

Nice job on the Stelvio!   The HD might get a bit lonely?
