Title: Jack Arnold auction
Post by: dsrdave on June 18, 2016, 06:10:50 PM
I was at the auction today.  TONS of stuff.  I thought prices were fair.  Some real deals.  I got the super alce and  vert with a leading link for parts and several other parts.  The centauro was pretty nice with the chin fairing.  Young guy bought it, didn't even know about moto guzzi till today.  Hopefully he'll be a good addition to the family.

Just curious... how much did the Centauro go for?

I suppose you used the keywords "VERT" "LEADING LINK" and "FOR PARTS" to get my attention.  It worked.  What is it?

Wanted to go but didn't fit in....

Did the Eldo's go at a good price?

Joan, Jacks wife, had a Convert rig with a side car. Last I know it was apart for some reason.

The centy looked pretty nice and sold for $2900.  I bought the vert with a unit leading link for $500.  There was a very late eldo police with twin disc front brakes.  It looked decent an went for about $3900. One of the verts sold for $10.00.  It was rough.

Thanks for the reply... some one got a good deal I'd say.

Yes, there were a lot of good deals!!
I'd say the auction was poorly advertised and the auctioneers, although nice guys were out of their element.  However, it worked for me.

I was planning to go to this, but had a father's day commitment that weekend which took precedence. Glad someone here got some of his collection. I never met Jack, but Zoom Zoom wrote out a nice PM to me describing him & family when I bought one of the left over pink tee shirts last year.

Are you parting the vert to sell parts, or parting to parts to sustain your collection? If parting for sale, I may hit you up for some parts of interest.

That would have been a good auction to attend!!   Lots of good deals.  The police Eldo was a bargain.

The vert will be a donor for a number of things.  If you need something I can probably help.  Let me know.
