Best rally pork chop anywhere!

And get a selfie, with the Pork Queen!
-
I will almost certainly be there.

It is on my rally calendar. Always a good event with good food, very good facilities and hot weather. What's not to like?
Hope to see you there.

Good to see you out and about, Chuck. You'll have to support the Indiana contingent for me, I'm out in SoCal. Look for the Kid's newly minted 1100 Spot.

Next year, for sure! Everyone have a fantastic time!! :thumb:

Good to hear from you Chuck. Expect you and Dorcia will be back East for the Wisconsin Rally. I'll keep my eyes out for Brad and G'friend in Elkader. Looking forward to seeing his new mount.
Ride/drive safe.

We're here! Not for long as we haven't been home since the national rally in John Day. Found an open room just for the night. Will be heading back home tomorrow mid day.
Wish I could stay to see the Pork Queen.

Stopped in to look around but couldn't stay. Talked to a few guys, Chris got a shirt, then back on the road. 500 mile day for us.
-
Nice rally location, great food and a few familiar faces.
Would have been a lot more fun had my bad my bad luck not followed me here too. Something in the transmission in my '13 Tiger 800XC broke and it refused to downshift. Rode home Saturday afternoon in 5th and 6th gears to get a jump on repairs.
Hope to make it again next year...and hopefully not on a Triumph.

It was a Great Rally!! The weather was fabulous -- cool and dry for Iowa in mid-July, if you can believe that -- the food catered by Robinsons Restaurant was very good -- roast beef on Friday, pancakes/eggs/sausage for breakfast and pork chop for dinner on Saturday. George said they had 204 registered.
My hat is off to all who were involved. Good job.
-
George and crew do a good job! :thumb: I think he said that he won't do another National. Too bad. Anyone make it Gunder for the beeg burger or St. Olaf for the pork tenderloin sandwich?
-
G I wonder why? With all the support he gets from MGNOC you would think it would be a no-brainer. 😄😄
-
Having an inside look into rallies and large organized events, I wouldn't do it.
-
George Vignovich did a Guzzi National in `97 and at least 1 more since then + I don't know how many State Guzzi rallies. He deserves to retire and let someone else take his MGNOC Iowa rep. job over. Perhaps bad Chad would like to?

This was my very first Guzzi rally. I was very impressed. Good food, good company, great weather and awesome roads in the area. Group lunch ride on Saturday was great. We could have found these roads by ourselves but it would have taken twice as long as I would have had to consult a map at every turn.
Back home in Phoenix today. Norge did everything well but when I figured 1700 miles home I was thinking two 850 mile days. I didn't factor in heavy rain in Iowa Sunday and side wind in Nebraska, Kansas and Oklahoma. Turned into three 600 mile days and I'm mostly worn out and I think the left side of my tires will be worn out first.
I'll be back!
-
I'll bet you're worn out. 600 mile days in that kind of weather will do it to you. Back in `97 we rode from Laguna Seca race track to the Iowa Guzzi National and back 2up. In Colorado it was hot/humid and we came close to a tornado. From Nebraska on east it was so boring I found out instead of thinking about my sore butt by getting off the freeway to a side road then my butt didn't hurt so bad because I had other things to think about besides it. That trip coming back we hit rain to the point when the water was flowing over the city curbs it was time to get under shelter for awhile, which we did impromptu in a small paint shop. The owner didn't mind and he had to make a short trip so we just stayed there until he came back. That Rally there were over 500 attendees. Biggest rally I've been to yet.

I tip my hat to you Jim, that's a lotta seat time. My longest day ever was 660 miles and it's all I can handle. I did close to 500 on Saturday & felt good about it.

I did 800 miles a couple times but those days are over. Now 500 is tough. :lipsrsealed:

Have you been there before? It's a good time. :thumb: I went last year after missing a few years. Mostly norCal Guzzi riders who I already knew from when I lived there. It was nice hooking up with them again. This year doubt I can make it. Have surgery coming up. Last year there were 3 of us Arizonans.
-
Nope. Haven't been there. However, been through the area.
