I'm riding from Connecticut to Nashville Tn and"beyond".
I'm looking for a good route to take in the sights.
Where is the world's largest ball of string anyway?
Any suggestions?

Yeah. I suggest you'll get some good suggestions if you suggest a cardinal direction from Nashville, towards your suggested beyond...

I'm going to Nashville but the route is open after that.
Maybe Alabama and go to Barber

If you're staying East of The Mississippi, then Barber's in Birmingham should be a must-see destination.
Then, you might turn east to Savannah and Charleston, before heading back north.
Lots to see on a loop like that...

Western NC is full of great riding roads. I'm scooting over to Nashville tomorrow for lunch then back for bedtime. Asheville and surroundings are worth a look see.

All great tips

The Southeast in late June , hmm , the best route will include motels with REALLY good air conditioning

For sure, for sure. Dew Points in the 70s and 80s. No thanks!

There is highway 61 the Blues Trail. Also the BB King museum http://bbkingmuseum.org/. Another love hate route is Natchez Trace out of Nashville and going west. There is also Graceland if you are into the whole Elvis thing. Nothing to take away from the mountains of NC but the rural south has a lot of culture to be enjoyed outside another hairpin turn. And this is coming from a staunch Yankee.

You got that right! I idly thought maybe I'd drop down to Barber's this week, but the forecast for Saturday turns out to be 97 degrees and 90 percent humidity!

From Nashville take the Natchez Trace down to Tupelo and then east to Barber's.

Hey I'm just a Scotsman who spent some months riding in your country, everybody told us we "had" to do the "tail of the dragon" route 129 in the Smokey mountain national park, we did, it was cool, it's en route to Alabama kind off :thumb: :thumb:

WV 219, 220, 19, 16 or just about any other road in that exceptional state. Route 16 from Marion VA to Welch WV is just as good as the tail of the dragon, way less traffic and about 6 times as long. Actually from Marion to Tazwell is know being called the "Back of the Dragon" blah on the name. hell ya on the riding.
Also the BRP from Waynesboro to Cherokee nation is something everyone should do at least once in their life. The little Switzerland Inn is a great place to stay with traditional rooms or shared cabins. Good food, good drink and Jen is very easy on the eyes.

Skyline Drive and Blue Ridge Parkway are must do's if you are near them.
