I purchases a full Mistral exhaust system used a couple of years ago for my T3 project bike. Now I am ready to install, it is in great shape but there is a small hole that looks purposely drilled on the right side header piper (in pic near the engine mount bolt). Is there a reason why one would do this, right side cylinder running hot on the donor bike? Would JB Weld likely hold or should is a small weld recommended?

Well most likely for the safety wire  Seriously a good tig welder could fill that but beware that may be the tip of the iceberg, corroding from the inside. Good Luck!

Maybe an attachment point for a sensor ? No JB Weld won't stand the heat .

I'd weld but in case it is not man made, I'd open it up incrementally with a step-drill to get past weakened edges to full thickness steel.

Being the cheap lazy cuss that I am I would prolly put a really short small sheet metal screw in it and call it good. lol
