Title: 73 V7 sport wiring

Need a bit of help. Electrics are not my strong suit. 73 V7 sport - headlite and taillight do not function.
Both work off the bike - No fuses blown. Thought I would try and find a diagram but I don't know
 that one really exists. I have not seen one with the V7 fuse setup. The rats nest of wires up under the
steering neck and just behind could be my problem. be nice to know what i'm trying to trace down.

Just because the fuses are not blown does not mean they are not the problem.  Poor electrical connections abound on the early bikes.  The headlight switches were suspect also.  Get a test light and start probing around.

Check the distribution block (24). It may be corroded.

trying to diagnose electrical issues via a forum is kind of like tying to tell how tall someone is over the phone. However, the 2 biggest wiring issues on a Sport is the fuse block and headlight switch. Because you don't state it, I have to assume you have the stock "pill box" head light switch and the gray plastic fuse block with the clear cover. Look closely at the fuse block, the stock ones likes to melt at the main fuse on the far left, the fuse next to it is the lighting fuse. If that looks ok, check power at the gray/red wire leading to the switch. You really need a volt meter or at least a 12 volt test light to properly diagnose any electrical problem. If the switch and/or fuse block are not stock, then you're dealing with someone else's work and that could be a real nightmare if you don't have some experience with motorcycle wiring. Good Luck

Thanks for all the help.The wiring Schematic is good.
Appears to have been 45 year old spade connector at the distribution block
bolted to the frame under the tank.
Also looks like I need to start work on a ignition switch replacement.
