Title: Red Warning Light/Service
Post by: Sambobadger on June 25, 2016, 10:37:56 PM
Got a 06 1100 Breva.  Red light comes on and tells me to Service.  Doesn't need servicing....especi ally when there is no dealer for hundreds of miles.  Anybody know the procedure for resetting the instrument cluster so it goes away?

The light doesn't come on for no reason.  You need to check the error codes to see what is not working correctly.

The one I've seen most often is 07 oil sensor fault, which is usually the oil pressure sensor not closing it's contacts when the pressure is relieved after the motor is switched off.  The electronics see this as a fault as it believes you have operating no oil pressure switch.

Start your motor, switch it off after a minute or so, then turn the key back on.  Fault temporarily gone away?  It's probably a faulty oil pressure switch.

If it's throwing up a 'Service' warning it has an issue. What error codes are showing?
