not sure what to think of that at the moment. Opens up a real can of worms! i'm going to keep my mouth shut and go to work and think about it later.

The war department at my house decided she wanted her half of the 2 car garage for her exterra last fall. I went through withdrawal for awhile but the pain eventually went away. I did have to stash the dirt bikes in the shed with the mower but the guzzis and the tiger still stay on the carpeted side of the garage. You know you can come here for support if you need it.

Or stand your ground and buy her a remote starter for the car.
Worked for me.

LOL...got my 3 car garage with new villa last February. LOVE IT
HQ always wins. Always.

The interior of the house, with the exception of my office, is under female rule (wife and three daughters). I get the garages (a 2-car and a 1-car). Of course, there are bicycles, camping gear, surfboards, and other family stuff in the big garage too.
Sometimes they treat "my" garages like a colon: they temporarily place whatever crap they don't want in there, and I have to figure out where and when to dump it.
My truck goes in the middle of the 2-car garage, which makes a good shop space when I take it out (bike lift moves into that spot). The motorcycles rest in the 1-car side - but they visit the "shop." (only 1 at a time)
With four licensed drivers (and 4-wheel vehicles) in the house now, it makes sense to keep the least-frequently-driven 4-wheeler in the garage, because it makes daily parking easier for everyone else. Not sure if that logic helps you at all, but it worked in my situation.
BTW - no blocking Mom or Dad's access. Each time the kids blocked our access, I parked their car somewhere else in the neighborhood. :whip2: They learned where to park very quickly.

I've had run of wife's garage for 11yrs, she wasn't using it. The chevy suv started leaking water through the dash so in it came 6mo ago. I went for a storage space up town. Moved all my shop stands, benches, rolling chassis there to have more room here. All parts & disassembled bikes on shelves are here & only room for 2 solo bikes or 1 sidecar rig. All started w/wife put a bath room downstairs taking 1/3 of one side, then the suv deal. Well, she came home w/new Mazda5 2 days ago, doesn't leak & can be outside. Now have to make deals w/her on using the big side.
Happy Wife=Happy Life, especially if she owns the house. Good Luck w/yours

I think you guys need to put on your man pants....
When the girls use the garage to dump heir stuff, the stuff goes in the house with instructions to put it away properly. If not, it's disposed of.

HQ always wins. Always.
Only if you're okay by letting her be the Alpha of the family by referring to her as HQ, SWMBO, and other submissive adjectives.

Lost my old garage to a bedroom for our last bundle of joy....finally got an 8' x 12' shed with a loft, ramp, and windows that's ALL MINE! No Christmas stuff, no mowers, no clothes racks, no toys...plenty of room for my tools, spares, and the Norge... :thumb:

...as my Chinese colleagues often say: "Happy Wife-Happy Life!"
I am sure if you give it some thought and consideration, there is a suitable and workable solution to this very minor, First World problem! (LOL) :thumb:

Dominance and Submission - about to become an issue at my, excuse me, HER house when the car she ordered gets here at the end of the month. She owned this house before I moved south from Pittsburgh and acts like she is doing me a favor by allowing me to park my bikes/guitars/backside here. When she asked "Can we DO something with all these motorcycles?" I suggested parking one on the coffee table and maybe another in the bedroom if having them in the garage was inconvenient. It's about to get ugly.
I'm not keeping my bikes outside.

Ha ha, but in case that was in response to my post: when there's a pile of "girl-stuff" in my garage I assume it's for Goodwill - I just let it accumulate till there's enough to make it worth a trip to the donation center.

You are missing your change to justify a 30'x40' "shed" with a nice attractive single track of pavers sidewalk leading to it..

Yes, put this off as long as possible. Do NOT stand your ground. Actually, ignore/change topic, but stall as long as you can.
Has been successful these past 8 years...(Hope Lisa never reads this)

Got a lot of replies must be a familiar topic.... Not enough lot to add on, cant do a shed for hoa rules, not practical to move. Car is really nice, truly probably shouldnt be in the street. Right now the options look like rent space somewhere else - which isnt sounding great, or downsize to smallblock assuming it will fit in there w the car. Or stall, as tazio said. In fact, i am at the gym right now. Tomorrow ill mow the yard all day and then take her to a movie and a nice dinner....

The fix was in before we moved in. I have final say over the garage and kitchen. She doesn't cook. She has final say on the interior of the house. When stuff started finding it's way into the garage from the interior door. I started stacking it up in front of the door. I used the other entrance and cooked what I wanted to eat. She eventually figured out that what was on the menu would match with her putting stuff into the garage. :thumb:

I always like to keep my vehicles in a covered building. The wife's car, my truck and my two motorcycles. Before we built the behemoth garage we have now, the rule of thumb was the newer vehicle went under the carport along with the motorcycles. Once I had the money to build the garage I made sure it was big enough to house all vehicles and space to work without moving any of the vehicles out. Wife was a little worried about the size at the time when the building was being built but she soon understood. She even understands more so now when she constantly gets compliments on great her 6 YO car with over 100k miles looks. People always think that she has gotten a new car. Oh ya, I also built a 10 x 10 shed at the back of my property for all the junk.....mostly yard equipment. So, no lawn mowers, weed whackers, gardening tools or leaf blowers in the garage unless they are under repair.

"Happy Wife, Happy Life.
Pick one!
Oxymoron?

You have to take the "Boss" out of the equation. Your "freedom" costs. I took the wifey to a staycation on another island and did the resort thing. Drove me "nuts". Let me out for the National at John Day by myself. Good luck on the garage. Maybe one of those single portable bike garages or a large bike cover would work temporarily.

Grow a pair, say no.
You Americans have foisted feminism on the rest of us, time to even things out, stop being the doormat.

The Daytona 1000 is the only bike the wife would allow parked in the house. She has final say over the house.
