I don't understand why they use big heavy cruisers for Police bikes. I can see it for highway patrol, but, NYPD, and other city forces would be better served by an ADV bike that can pretty much go anywhere, and yet is fast on the highway as well.
-
Wow, that's pretty amazing.
I'd rather have a Stelvio to do that kinda stuff!
Jacking those suspensions up about 2 inches would do wonders for the handling.
-
Love to be able to do that stuff with some one else's bike.
Don't see the common sense of doing it in short sleeves.

Looks like fun, I practice Lock turns and riding around objects all the time. I've caught some sweet air on the tiger a couple of times. I think it's good to know what your capable of.

Cool stuff!

I was a police M/C instructor for many years and we ran very similar courses as what the video depicts but I must say this doesn't hold a candle to what I saw the Italian Police do on Guzzi's while escorting a cycling event in which I was participating in Northern Italy. Saw guys operating stock police Guzzi's stand on their seats in full police uniform while escorting the ride. They were 3 abreast at approx. 40 kph.
With regard to the Harley video you'd be suprised how confident and competent you get after riding a police bike like a dirt bike for 2 weeks straight. You certainly do learn how to effectively pick it up!!!
Cheers, Tim

Fun video. Hitting that sand pit would be a challenge. All I can say about the Harley's is they have good tip over protection.

I've decided if I'm being chased by a MC cop, I'll go into a parking lot, do tight turns until he drops it. Then I'll hammer the throttle and escape.
