Title: WHat 750cc Guzzi Have I bought
Post by: blusmith on July 02, 2016, 02:06:33 PM
Have bought  a blown up  guzzi  forma deceased estate .  ID plate  says   its yr is 1986 ; 744cc; Frame no is PX 11587 . I have  2 engines in  bits numbered  PX 000507 and PX 000633. I have  2 barrels  -both  chromed  and  Two  4 valve  heads  with the  expected  bent  exhaust  valve and a holed piston  so that  means  LARio  right?  but  750cc puzzles me  .  Plastic body   bits  and tank  could be  Lario  or  Targa  Any help /comments appreciated . Chris

Are you in Europe?  `80's 750 Guzzis never made it to the US.  Sounds like you may have a 750 Targa.

odd are you sure they are chrome bores?  that was only a feature on early v35 and v50's

are you sure its PX not PK?   never heard of a small block with PK

Looks like you have a V75, 4 valve heads and 750cc. It had a small fairing like a T5 and a 16inch front wheel. You are not in NZ by any chance? One of these was for sale on trade me recently. I have a V75 brochure from the 1980s and considered buying one but instead purchased a Lario which I thrashed the hell out of and had no trouble. I sold it before the mileage got high, but a friend told me that it rattled its way up to 65000km. I don't no if the valve gear was ever updated. It got wrecked in a crash.
Cheers, voncrump

I have  checked the Numbers and it is a PX ....... I have added  some pictures  for those  experts to comment on
Yes I am in New Zealand  and in  rummaging through all the boxes and cobwebs  I now have  4 barrels  and two good  pistons (80mm) and  some good valves  to  pick  from. Are  the  suzuki  valve springs and  seats  still obtainable ?

Yeah, that's a V75. Everything to do the heads is available. The heads themselves are like chicken teeth, though. That'll be a labor of love to get going..

Hi Chris. I have had that on my watch list ever since it was first listed. I posted earlier and the guys id'd it as a V75.

Would have loved it as a project but as I am retired the $$ that I suspect it will need was beyond me. Keep us posted with pics please.

Sounds good Chris.

My wife has just commented that "I am sure he will spend hours and hours on it". I think that she is pleased that I did not put a bid on it!
