Title: Matching paint for fairing to '98 EV
Post by: maquette on July 04, 2016, 10:49:33 AM
I have a '98 EV in the blue and silver color and wondered if anyone has matched that color for a fairing? Should I just go to a local paint shop, or is there a coded number that is available? This is for a Swanee Aero Foil if that matters.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom, I doubt a local paint shop will have a paint code for it, but who knows. A better option is to find a paint shop that can scan the paint on the bike and mix up the color for you. Not all can.

Had to wait awhile for the fairing to get here through the mail, but now it's home. These things seem to be a scarce as hens teeth. I fabbed up some brackets yesterday and today and took a test drive. This thing seems to provide better protection than any other fairing I can remember.

Now I plan to take John Henry and Charlie's advice and get to my local PPG guy and see if he can match it up to the original blue. If he can, I'll get it done and post up a pic or two.

I don't know about the rest of you, but that big barn door windscreen didn't do much for me.

I considered that Steve, but wanted to see what it will set me back to match the blue. It certainly works fine like it is, but I've seen one in red that I thought looked really sharp, so now I have to find out.
