I'm the proud new owner of a pre-loved 2012 Stelvio NTX , and as I ride on some fairly average roads would like to add a guard to the oil cooler to protect against stone damage.
I contacted Radguard here in Oz and they advised me that their guard only fits 2013 on models. Does anyone know what the difference is between the oil coolers on the 2012 and 2013 models?
If I can't buy one to fit I will consider fabricating my own mesh type guard (the ones with large holes would be useless to me). Has anyone on here fabricated their own guard?
Thanks
John

The early Stelvios, those that had actual bodywork covering the fuel tank and a glove box, had a smaller oil cooler that later models. If you check out MG Cycle you can find a picture of both.
Note: I don't know exactly when the change occurred.

thanks mate :thumb:, looks like the 2011 and later are all the same
I also had a look at replacement oil coolers on the net and as near as I can tell they are all the same from 2011 onward
In view of that I reckon I'll take a punt and order one from Radguard
Cheers, John

I can confirm that the Radguard listed for 2013-15 fits my 7/2012 Stelvio :thumb:. I rounded off the top corner of the horn mounting bracket with the angle grinder to make it a bit easier to bolt up

Hey John,
Good to see the guard fits.
Any reason why you went silver instead of black?
Cheers
Greg.

Hi Greg
I like the contrast as per the bashplate and rocker covers, the pic below illustrates it nicely
