I guess I have to take back at least some of the things I've said about Oklahoma. I rode State Hwy 1 on my way to the Ozarks last Friday. What a GREAT road!. Who would have ever thought you would see this in Oklahoma:

Is "Okie" still a deragatory term or is it a term of endearment? Only those from Oklahoma should answer. Just curious from a Hoosier.

So Mike , you are aware that we have the Okie camp out at the West end of the Talimena Drive , or highway 1 as it says on the map . The area is full of great roads , with almost no traffic :thumb: Come up in Oct , the weather will be cool , probably wet at times , good food , good folks

Thanks for the invite Dusty. I'll have to give that serious consideration.

We use it to define ourselves , although Merle got it wrong ... completely  Odd thing is , almost as many Texans , Arkansans, Coloradans, Kansans, and New Mexicans were in that migration, so it may be a bit inaccurate

I think I had better insults for the ex-neighbor. He is an "Okie" but rides an HD Ultra. I told him that Honda makes better cars.

Wish I'd have had the chance! I was a tag along on the ride, as one of my riding buddies planned it. I didn't even know I was going to be able to make the trip until about 18 hours before kickstand up.
