Title: Sport 1100 Mirrors
Post by: chicagomike on July 08, 2016, 01:20:32 PM
My carb Sport mirrors suffer droop and no amount of superglue on the ball will fix it anymore. I've read that CBR600 & V11 LeMans mirrors both fit and work. Any other suggestions and/or pics so I could see what it looks like?

Thanks

Mike

I ditched mine and installed Napoleon bar ends. Rear vision is 1000% better.

I found some bar ends as well, I forget the brand but small, nicely made, and the clearest mirrors I've ever used. Plus they look way cooler, and I actually can see behind me instead of just seeing my arm.

yeah I've heard that Emgo aftermarket CBR 600 mirrors are the ticket.

I haven't measured, but I don't think the V11 mirrors have the same bolt pattern.

I'll try and check for you tonight or tomorrow, and let you know.

I replaced the mirrors on my LeMans with a set for a Buell about 12 years ago at about half the price from MG. Don't know which model Buell. The mounting is a pair of M6 studs spaced about 1 1/8 inches apart. They had a set with stalks about an inch longer.

Here they are on my bike:  (photo credit to Bill Hagan from Jay's central PA ride thread)

Emgo part #20-87021&2 (left & right) listed for Honda CBR600, fit the Sport mounting perfectly.  Don't get the ones for a CBR900, same bolt pattern but the stems for the 900 ones are several cm shorter so you get a better view of your elbows.

Since you're going to ditch them.  Try some silicone goop and squeeze enough in to be a gasket.  I usually turn mine down so that they look like hound dog ears.

Mike,
I fitted pattern CBR600 mirrors to my 1100 Sport Injection. They were model year 1998-2000 (90mm stems) and not expensive. These fit straight on with no drilling/messing about required. Pics below. I grew tired of always having to tuck in an elbow to see behind me.
