Hey there! Anybody know the piston bore on the stock Breva 1200 front brake master cylinder? I can't find it stamped anyplace. Looking at the price of a new brake lever, I was thinking that a Japanese spare assembly might be the way to go.

The original levers are expensive but there are a host of cheap knock offs on the bay of fleas if price is the issue.
I think the M/C is a 12mm bore but I'm not certain.

Just a random bit of information: I had an '08 1200 Sport with a broken front brake lever in the shop, next to an '09 Yamaha FZ6. The Yammy lever looked identical, and turned out to be a perfect bolt-in fit to the Guzzi. 30-something dollars, iirc, from your favorite on-line parts house. I didn't bother to notice if the rest of the m/c would have worked, but I would guess it would.

That's good to know! Figuring that something from a bike with dual, 4 piston calipers should work. The Guzzi MC has really nice feel to it, so I'm not looking to mess with that. The local Guzzi shop in Toronto has a parts catalog online, and list the lever at over $200 CDN, which is just plain nuts for a pretty utilitarian, albeit adjustable, lever.

Fantastic! Often suppliers don't bother listing the more obscure bikes, even if a part fits several models. Even some of the Guzzi stuff on distributor sites dont list the 1200 Brevas, but do list the 1100 or Norge, and you know the part is the same, but it doesn't come up in a model specific search. I'm thinking to also look for a nicer looking set of brake/clutch m/c's just for aesthetics, but I'd also like to fit a radial master cylinder from say, and R1 or similar. The stock setup on the Breva sport is still very good in terms of feel and power, but a bit dull and basic at the handlebars.
