Before we left for the National Beaver said she only had to get SD, ND, MT, WA and Wyoming to get the lower 48. I said we can get them on the way to the National. She said you must have a different map than me as some looked out of the way. We took mainly secondary roads to ND, then 12 all the way across MT, Idaho and Washington to Walla Walla then dropped down to John Day. Got Wyoming on the way home.
I think this is a great accomplishment that a lot of people will never do.
She is still working on getting the 254 counties in Texas with only 50 or so remaining. In fact, you can put on less miles getting the lower 48 than getting the 254 counties.
Very proud of you,
Tex

Wow. Very impressive

Gee, Beav...way to go!!! Congratulations on a big accomplishment!

That's impressive Beaver!
Hwy 12 is fantastic Tex...what a great ride from Lolo along the Clearwater all the way to Walla Walla my favorite river road so far!
If you're missing Harris county, just come down to Houston for a visit!!

Which bike?

Probably her V7 , and why does that matter ????

Well done!
Yeah; those Texas counties... The ones on the left side of the state that follow section lines are easy enough to tag (even if the road through one will look pretty much the same as the road through the next). But, all the little jumbled things on the right side--that's much tougher. Good luck to her!

Nice work!

On a similar note, I am trying to hit all of the Chicago neighborhoods and suburbs. But the way traffic works here, I may put a gun to my temple first!

Why do you care?

Congratulations Beaver, I had the pleasure of meeting you and Tex for lunch on the way to John Day.

Attagirl, Beaver. :thumb: Me, too. I finally put Washington on the map on this last trip. <shrug> Never had ridden there..
My half sister has them all, too.. but she's quite a bit older. She had more time.

Way to go Beeve, I hope the ancestors of all those bugs don't decide to take revenge on you. That could get ugly :food:
-
Congrats! :thumb: I am no where near that. Missed ND and the deep south AL, LA, MS but made up for it by riding in other parts of the world.

All I can say is...

Because we all know you can't tour on a smallblock.
-
Congratulations Beaver... May I ask how long this feat took to accomplish...?
Wow, how to go...! Good luck on the Texas Counties.
Best,
Rob

What about the other 2 states?
Don't quit now!

You can ride to Alaska. The 50th state would be hard to ride to with her bike.

I have about 50 counties in Texas , including Deaf Smith CO , named after Erastus "Deaf" Smith . Not much there , but the name called out to me

Way to go!!
I was well on my way to picking up all the states accessible by land, but life stepped squarely in the way
I have been to the 49 by various vehicles but I still need 13, IIRC, on the HD&M EV. I hope it will last long enough to accomplish this, and I hope I'll last that long too
You are my inspiration. I think I'll head out to Nebraska before winter hits up there
-
Woo Hooo Way to go Beeeeve!
-
If you had stayed on 12 west of Yakima you could have experienced the annual Deep Forest campout on the north side of Mt. St. Helens. A very unique Guzzi gathering after the National.

Fantastic! Congratulations. :thumb: :boozing:

When she is thru working 12 hour shifts will ask her if she can give the details of time, bikes, etc.
For a fact she rode the V-7 to the National in NH, Iowa, Canada and John Day. The V-7 will sho nuff take you wherever you want to go.

Georganne (SP) is one of the nicest , funniest , and hardest riding people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting . Which makes one wonder , what is she doing hanging around with the Turnip Farmer , or any of us ???

Maybe food for thought for another journey out west, but if you're in BC Canada, About 3/4 of the way from Prince George to Prince Rupert you can take Hwy37 North into Hyder Alaska - beware of being "Hyderized"! Awesome roads in that part of BC and Hyder, well that's a whole surreal experience.

Yep, contrary to what many think, a V7 is plenty of bike for long distance rides. BTDT, but not as much as Beaver ! Ridden on a 750 2up thru many western states too.

Congrats to my favorite State Rep. in my favorite state.
Can't wait for the GRIT Rally :azn:

Thanks for all your "congratulations" and praises. I didn't start out with a goal of riding through all the states. It just kinda happened after I started riding to Moto Guzzi rallies all over the United States. Six years ago, Tex and I rode to the National Rally in Oregon. We toured most of the western states then. That trip lasted almost 2 weeks, including the time spent at the rally. When I went to Randy Tefft's first New Hampshire State Rally by myself, I decided to do a tour of all the eastern states. It took almost 2 weeks and almost 6,000 miles to go through 25 states. I had a plan to see or do something special in each state, but locals came up to me in several states and suggested good rides too. I've been to Alaska and Hawaii, but never on a motorcycle. I don't know if I'll make it back to either, but maybe! I've stayed off Interstates unless that was the only possible road and stayed on secondary roads and even gravel and dirt roads. You see more going through towns and can talk to more people.
Which bike?
I started going to Guzzi rallies in 2009. I've been on a Jackal, an 1100 Breva, 750 Breva, and 750 Stone. The little ones toured as good as the big ones!
I think I have about 15 more Texas counties to tour, most in West Texas, and yes, Houston is still on my list. I'm going to finish this year, hopefully. Rescued animals, grandbabies, fires, floods, and tornadoes have slowed me down!

Add my congratulations to the list Beaver. :thumb: :thumb:
I am more that happy with the Baby B. for touring. Those 48 prancing neddies I find more than adequate.

wOOOHOOO!
why skip one? Heck -- even I've been to Alaska.
PS -- nice to see you both at John Day!

Oh, wait, did I misunderstand Turnip. Are you saying that the 48 states are on the conglomerate of those 4 Guzzis, not all on one? Not that it matters much, I'm just curious if a 750 Stone has been in all 48 or not.
EDIT - I also find it funny that I too started Guzzi ownership on a Jackal, then bought a B11, and now have a V7 Stone. :boozing:

You lose weight?
