Title: Reverse fender loop back on ebay?
Post by: chuck peterson on July 20, 2016, 06:55:58 AM
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moto-Guzzi-Eldorado-/152173845093?forcerrptr=true&hash=item236e449a65:g:EB8AAOSweWVXfFxm&item=152173845093

Thought it sold for an outrageous amount...now it's back for more? Doesn't that mean it didn't really sell?

Previous auction did not make reserve price.

Here is the ploy involved here fellas , and this is very common . The seller had a shill bid the bike to $9700.00 on the last auction , and now starts the bidding at $10,000.00 . The lie told is this , "well , the bike bid up to $9700.00 last time , so it must be worth at least $10,000.00 " . This is very common in the car world .

The difference being this time the reserve has been met.

The high bidder ($9701, reserve not met) from the previous auction is also bidding on this new auction but has been outbid by some other genius who has had 85 bid retractions in the last six months.
The dude with retraction history might be a KJ but even if he retracts the $10100+ bid the reserve is still met meaning two time bidder is the buyer which would be somewhat pointless if they are a shill.

For the money involved you can buy Gary's bike in the Portland area and it looks better in person.  :thumb:  (http://i113.photobucket.com/albums/n238/Bigblockzuki/2016%20Moto%20Guzzi%20National%20Rally/IMG_1336_zpsrdkvg51f.jpg) (http://s113.photobucket.com/user/Bigblockzuki/media/2016%20Moto%20Guzzi%20National%20Rally/IMG_1336_zpsrdkvg51f.jpg.html)

I just noticed that the Moto Guzzi decals look like there is no clear over them, and a couple corners are peeling up.

Yes, that repaint got the Bob Nolan imagineering award at the national.  Much more imagineerng went into slapping pant on that unloved bike than went into three years of designing and building from scratch a workable trike with no transmission  My hat's off to the incredible amount of imagination and engineering that the repaint required. Yessir, Bob would be proud.
