Title: 850T tank onto Cali 1100
Post by: guzzista on July 26, 2016, 02:35:25 PM
Greetings. Just about to try installing a 850T Tank in place of the Guppy Tank on my Cali 1100 carb. Dont have any reference points as to the difference between the Cali 2 Tank, (which I have seen on a Cali 1100 in Europe) and the 850t Tank, ' cept for the fuel lid/ door. Also the mounting bolt holes on the frame neck maybe a concern? The Cali airbox does have to go as well as having  to  install a V7 Sport/ 850T, LM1 Breather box ? For the rest of if I am missing something major, I'd like some of the board guys to provide some wisdom.  1.5 gallon more would definitely help the commute.  TIA

Would going to pod filters help the clearance?

should be able to still use the frame breather you have now.. no fuel pump on that bike right?
steering neck is taller on your cal by like 3" but I've seen a few done with the old style tank..

Thanks, guys !. Yes, air filter pods are already in the recipe. As per the breather, keeping the frame type will only happen because of convenience, otherwise, the old style breather box ( v7 Sport 850TM LM1) with the Guzziology tweak will work . Just looking forward to fuel up a bit less, ( 50 miles roundtrip x5 commute)  asides for not loving the Guppy tank look . More to follow with pics . Cheers

The extra gallon of gas was the spark for me.
