2013 V7 Stone. Turn key, all lights on momentarily. Then neutral and Oil stay lit while I hit starter button. If the bike doesn't fire on first try, the check engine joins the neutral and oil lights until it fires up. Is this normal light progression upon start up?

2013 V7 Stone-all the lights come up then just the oil ,neutral AND engine light remain but engine light goes off a second later. My understanding is you should hit the starter after the engine light goes off.

On the Breva it was explained to me that when the key is first turned on let the speedo and revo do their St Vitus's dance, then wait for the EFI light to go off before hitting the starter. Something to do with the EFI unit setting it's parameters.

Sounds like the modern version of the 15-sec rule.

Haven't measured it but it would be about 8 as a guess.

You are way overthinking this...... Wait for the boot to stop, and hit the starter... The oil light will be on cause there is no pressure in the engine.. The Neutral light will come on cause you are in Neutral (in theory) the Alternator light will come on because the initial crank of the engine excites the regulator to charge then dies, so the alternator will stop, (cause the engine is not turning) ..... Just press the starter again, until it starts ....

Ok, just wanted to check on the engine light, but it goes off when the bike starts. Thanks
