Is the Norge 8V saddle taller than the 4V? I've got a red 4V Norge that I like very well, but would like maybe 1-1.5" taller perch. The pictures of the 8V saddle appear taller, but that may just be a trick of the camera. (??)
And, of course, it must be interchangeable with the earlier saddle regarding attachment and fit.

John, I wouldn't think the 8V seat was any taller. Most folks that have an 8V are discussing either raising the seat or lowering the foot pegs to gain legroom. I sent my 8V seat to a member here on the forum to add an inch to the seat height and he did a great job. You might consider having your seat customized rather than getting an 8V seat, would probably be cheaper too --

The two seats are the same height (according to published specs and my own rear end). They are also interchangeable. There are some differences in shape, nose width, surface texture, etc., but essentially they are the same.
Best bet to gain height is to talk to a certain frequent forum participant (cough - kingoffleece - cough *grin*), or to custom seat makers such as Russell Day-Long (I'm a satisfied customer). Both are very well regarded.

No, the seats are not the same height. The 8V is higher. -> http://cycle-ergo.com/
If you are a normal sized man, most likely it will need/ custom seat/ lower pegs, unless you are a young man who can ride anything.

John, when I bought my 08 1200 Sport in late 2013, I could not stand it being so low. Someone on this forum suggested I put additional foam under the seat. So I went to Lowes, bought 1/2" foam padding (the interlocking kind). I took the front staples out, pealed back the seat cover, cut 2 pieces to fit under the seat foam, stretched the seat cover back on, glued and stapled it and it gives me 1" additional height! It looks stock and combined with my 1 1/2" lowered foot pegs, the bike fits perfect!

Its easy to get a seat raised. I had mine on the B1100 raised 1.5", made a significant difference in comfort. I highly recommend the www.theseatguyjon.c om
