Title: rear wheel re-install
Post by: Yard Sale on August 12, 2016, 10:28:16 PM
I just got new tires and re-installed the wheels. The rear wheel hub has a small gap, perhaps 2mm, between it and the final drive housing. Is this normal? (This is my first wheel R&R on my new-to-me Breva 750.)

I checked for binding, spacer, etc. and the gap didn't close when I torqued the axle nut.

Edit to Add: Not my pic, not my captions! But I've got about the same gap.

Yeah, this one looks the same, too. I guess it's not an issue. I would imagine rain spray gets in there.

Also, when re-installing the front, spin the wheel and grab the brake a few times, or hold the brake and squash the forks before tightening the pinch bolts?
