Took the Le Mans out for a run today, finishing with a 10 minute run up the motorway at 5 - 6,000 rpm in top.
When I got home I noticed some oil over the back of the gearbox, running rearwards.
Quickly traced it to the gearbox breather pipe which runs from the 'box forwards and upwards in between the V before returning back as far as the carbs.
Never had a drop out of it before; is it usual for the gearbox to 'breathe' oil at constant high-ish revs?
Wondering whether to put a catch bottle over the pipe end.

The hose is supposed to go up under the frame rail and go along top edge of batt. You could extend the hose longer and use a clamp on the tranny side. It is not to go down(hose).
