Title: Lario centerstand cracked ....need advice
Post by: Gian4 on August 14, 2016, 04:02:06 PM
Hi all
While putting my Lario up on the centerstand today I noticed things did not feel quite right.  Took a closer look and noticed the stand is cracked and bent where the foot tang intersects with the leg of the stand right at the curve.  Is this a weldable situation?  If any one has a 650 centerstand they would like to sell I'm interested.
Thanks
Gian4

Sure, you can weld it. No big deal. I covered that on the Lario Rehab thread somewhere.

I had to have mine welded on the cx100 years ago. Worked better after.

Easily weldable.
While you're having that done gusset the foot lever where it connects to the leg, this will strengthen it.
Also put a bit of 1/8 thick steel around the contact points with the ground, make them slightly wider than the tubes, this will stop the bottom of the tubes wearing through and if made wide enough stop it sinking into soft dirt.
I did my LeMans 3 25 years ago, still going strong.
The real struggle is putting the springs on when you refit it.
