Not bad looking, and in the direction of practicality.
Wonder what that fairing weighs? Hope the designers made the right front-end suspension mods, whatever those are ... !

a Ninja Turtle would look good on thaT.

It didn't take long for someone to customize a new bike...
-
Cross-wind handling? Looks spectacular, but I wonder how it would work crossing the Golden Gate Bridge.
-
Dunno.
Cooler heads may prevail - as they say.

Saw this on another web site. While interesting, this is what happens when a clothing proprietor comissions a motorcycle for advertising purposes.

Sorry for the duplication, I just saw the other thread on it.
Still kinda weird, though. I could never warm up to the looks of those...just the glorious song of that engine.

I just think it's cool someone thought to make an homage to the V8 using a new Guzzi.
-
Well just to be clear, the v8 was only one of many Guzzi and non-Guzzi running dustbin fairings at the time.

Yep. All the racers were running dustbins in the mid-1950s. Until they were banned.

Dustbins were banned ? What was the rationale ?
Sonny Angel told me a tale about hammering one out of something or other and getting a little edge for a while since he was early on the curve.
-
Top speeds were getting too high , and the dustbins were also causing some stability issues .

Was Guzzi the first or the most notable because of the V-8?
-
The dustbin fairing was outlawed because it made the bike unstable in crosswinds, leading to a number of crashes.
Two main reasons for the instability: Center of pressure too far forward, so a sidewind tends to push the front end downwind (consider what would happen to an arrow if the feathers were attached at the tip).
Rider responds by steering into the wind. As the bike leans into the wind, the dustbin fairing acts like a wing; low pressure on the high (downwind) side acts to lighten the front end (reducing front wheel traction, while pushing the bike back to vertical, straightening the turn. This effect can make steering feel so heavy and slow as to make the bike run wide in tight turns.
To counter this effect, modern race bikes sometimes mount perforated fairing when wind kicks up.

RIP Mr. Czycz

The dustbin fairings also allowed for some really fast top speeds on tires that were not up to the job . They were pretty slick , ever wonder how motorbikes producing 50 HP were capable of reaching 150 MPH ?

Not sure if Guzzi was first-I doubt it-and the V8 wasn't the first Guzzi to use a dustbin either.
Make the dustbin cool again? When was it cool before? I bet a lot of folks would end up on their side in a parking lot.

Here's the best article I've ever read on motorcycle aerodynamics -- Foale explains this far better than I can:
