Anyone have experience fitting Ducati clamp style PFH Dellorto's to a loop frame.
My old Eldo is going to be able use bigger carbs due to engine work. I've read on this old tractor about going with the non clamp style carbs and that is not anything I want to mess with.
Other option would be to find a good used set of VHB30-32's
Appreciate any guidence ya'll might have

VHB's 30's would be the straightest swap ( if you have Amals 930's you will also need manifolds) . I have seen DUC bevel clamp type both 30's and 32's PHF's on them . From what I know they should sleeve on the VHB manifolds. The plastic insulation sleeves inside PHF's may need replacement ? . George Dockrays V700 build was featuring PHF 36's on specially built manifolds, which I believe other forum members also used

I have a pair of PHF30 carbs that came off a 850T. I have stripped and cleaned them in my ultrasonic cleaner, they are in good shape. PM me if interested.

I have occasionally wondered if there was Amy significant difference between vhb 29s and vhb30s. Other than the obvious 3%....

Yes. The difference is 7%, not 3%, as it is the area of the throat that matters. That varies with the square of the ratio of the diameters. (30/29)^2 = 1.070.
That's evidently enough of a difference that Dellorto bothered to make the two sizes, and Guzzi decided to move up.

Ha! Right, you are! My math is pretty bad for a surveyor. Actually, it is not the math, it is the concept. Still, a fail on my part.

There's 3 kinds of people in this world. Those that are good at math, and those that aren't.

In real-world "butt dyno" testing, I can't tell any difference whatsoever. <shrug>
