Sensor and thermostat are two different things.

I don't think the 2 valve engines have a thermostat.

Not 100% sure though.

Yes the diagram shows part# 25 as oil temp sensor, but as far as I can tell no pressure sensor., however I know the pressure sensor exists 'cos I've replaced it once and it comes on before start up and immediately goes out when running, there's been a lot said about them here. Also where does the air temp sensor mount ? Mine has always sorta just hung on the harness inside the fairing. There's nothing amiss, just wondered. Thanks, Huzo.

....... Also where does the air temp sensor mount ? ......

If its the same as my Breva the ECU air temperature sensor mounts into the air box on the right side

I think you are describing the ambient air temp sensor for the dash display.

It just needs to be in the air somewhere, preferably not too close to the engine.  Where doesn't really matter to the sensor, as long as it can measure outside air.  If it bothers you hanging there, zip tie it or thread it around to somewhere else.

As to the 'proper' place -- don't know.

Doh - answered the wrong question  :embarrassed:

The dash temp sensor is mounted at the left hand end of the little panel that carries the 4 way flashers and ABS switches

I may be wrong (happens at least once every few years), but that part looks an awful lot like an oil pressure valve and not a thermostat. I know how it's labeled in the parts diagram, but this is from a company that still has trouble identifying a transmission in a manner that most people understand.

Nope, it's the thermo. The OPRV is next to it

Yeah reasonable comment, I just couldn't find an appropriate spot within the range of the harness. But thanks for the help.
