Title: Stornello on the Slipstream
Post by: adventurelounger on September 11, 2016, 09:17:58 PM
This summer, I took the plunge on a new Moto Guzzi V7II Stornello scrambler. I kinda did it with the intention of replacing my old ('74) BMW airhead. Why? Well, it had to do with birds (in particular starlings), brakes (analog vs ABS), and carbs (drip-prone, like most middle-aged guys, vs tidy EFI).

If you're even mildly interested, I wrote about it on my motoblog here: http://wp.me/p3QZZ5-De

Hope you get a kick out of it. Extra point for anyone who's a Pavement. And if you're interested in the airhead, PM me!

I'm envious.  I ran the numbers and to buy a cheap used V7 and give it a Scrambler treatment cost more than just buying a Stornello.

Thank you, R3. Glad you enjoyed. I had every intention of heading up to Sturbridge but have another obligation that weekend and won't be able to make it. But I'm watching this space for other IMOC events.

An yes, NF, doing a DIY V7 Scrambler might not be worth the effort. The folks in Mandello di Lario build a pretty sweet one as it is!
