This is interesting, wonder if it can be used on a modified Guzzi as a spark and injection timer.

It would take a lot of work (electrical and mechanical) to fit it, and it still may not work.
The factory sensor is a simple inductive pickup.

I used 4 magnets from the hardware store and a Sigma Bicycle pickup for my electric speedo. Easy and Guzzi owner cheap. Glued the magnets in the rear brake rotor and the j.b. weld the sensor on the rear caliper bracket. Ran wire up to speedo. Never had a problem and it will indicate at 1 mph. Very accurate.

I need a picture of that!

When I had the metric dash on my 1200 Sport I did much the same thing (too lazy to do math). I mounted the sensor on the front because I didn't have a wire long enough to reach to the rear. I super glued a magnet to a brake rotor bolt head and then zip tied the sensor on the fork leg.
It worked fine for the year or so that I used it.

when electronic speedometers were relatively new I mounted one and used a short tach cable out of the transmission to the pulse generator. It worked well but the speedo was not water resistant so after repeated attempts to make it so, I took it off to use in something else. now you can get them water resistant
