*** UPDATE *** :undecided:
* Have a wanted ad posted on wildguzzi for one (white face, like in the first photo)
* Have posted photos on facebook for one
* Called Palo Alto Speedometer - they canno fix it because they said they don't have the parts
* Have a call into North Hollywood Speedometer
NOTE: Second photo shows the common failure of these electronic tachs. The trick and challenge is taking them apart and putting them back together.
Stay tuned...the hunt continues....probab ly have to buy a donor bike for parts!! (LOL)

Would electrical conductive epoxy fix it?

they need no special parts, just open it and solder the damm thing

If that's all it needs, I'd be happy to take care of it for you. I'd certainly be willing to take a look. I've been repairing BMW airhead gauges professionally now for close to ten years. They've been 99% of my work, but have been into a few Veglias in that time.

I've got one in the garage if you want it. The bezel, dial, face etc. are perfect, the electronics are shot. I sent it to Palo Alto Speedo, they couldn't fix it.

My Veglia still works, but the needle has faded so badly that it's difficult to see. I'd like to take the bezel off and paint the needle. Can you explain how the bezel is removed and reinstalled? Is a new chrome ring required?

I've removed the bezel off of mine. First I wrap the edge with electrical tape to protect it. Then I put an appropriate size hose clamp around it [kinda like the one from your oil filter] and keep the edge of the clamp about flush with the crimp. I used a small screw driver to lift the crimp enough to remove the bezel. The hose clamp will keep it in shape as you do this. When I put it back I just use a flat blade screw driver to re crimp it. Make sure when You put it back on the weather gasket is in place and not cracked.

It's a total PIA to get the bezel off. I did mine and epoxied the counter weight and took a magic marker to the needle. The marker has faded but the tach still works. :thumb:
You can search for a picture thread here on the board (not from me). Use a big hose clamp to go around the tach to hold it and file down a paint can opener as prying tool. And if you're like me, you'll go to glass shop to get a replacement if you break it. BTW- it's even harder to get back on, try some soap on the gasket.
You might call Joel Levine (see above) for an estimate.

Opening a gauge is really easy with a dremel cutoff wheel. You do not damage the bezel and it can be opened as many times as you desire without any undue fanfare. Closing it with a bit of JB weld and a piece of aluminum tape. Just pick a location usually an inch or so below the bezel and cut all the way around. On speedometers with a reset knob I usually try to cut in that area. Clamps, can openers and broken glass are taken out of the equation and the ring is never touched. Mike

There's a new one for a reasonable price on ebay:

edit - sorry, I just realized that link was for a speedo and you want a tach. But hey - I have seen tachs on e-bay too. Keep looking. I've seen whole dashes from EVs with both gauges go for cheap.
