Some of you may have read my remarks on the less than stellar wind protection on the MGX at speeds above 55 MPH and how I couldn't wait to get the XL windshield. Well, I got the shield this week and it helped...A lot. But, still not perfect. So, I remedied it myself. I added a couple little wing deflectors to the fairing and I'll tell you, it's is 'almost' like riding behind a swanee now. So much in fact that I can hear the stereo clear as day at 80 MPH. Haven't tested them more than that yet.

That looks very sharp! I like how it complements the lines of the bike :thumb:

nice looking, is that a Guzzi product?
-
Will I be able to hear the stereo while riding with you bud ?
Glad the modification worked :bike-037:

Thanks Chris.

The screen is, but the wings were made by me.

If you're right behind me maybe :azn:

I think it helps to make the fairing to look better. :thumb:

I took a ride to N.H. to see the mgx and the eldo at seacoast sports last weekend, and man pictures do not do capture the beauty of these new 14's. I'm glad your enjoying yours Luap .Some Ducati fans were freaking at all the carbon fiber slathered all over the MGx. I know a lot of folks aren't crazy about MG going cruiser , but at least they' re doing it there own way and with variation.

NICE WORK!

I was wondering when someone would snatch up the windshield and add it on. Your extra wings look real good on there as well Luap!

BTW, did you locate the wiring connectors we talked about?

Nope. They must be a part of the kit that you have to buy separately. But I did find a couple 2 pronged plugs that were powered when the ignition was on, so I used one of the power sides for that to power up the rocker switch. Works great.
Thanks again

"Rocker switch" ? Have you notified Marcia ? Sorry , couldn't help it

I think those would be the plugs I was referring to, although I would have expected them both to have power on one lead???

I remember Frank Wedge adding a windscreen to his V11 LeMans. Think it was from a Windjammer. Yours looks better.

looks better than stock. even better that it works well.

WHew!
For a moment I thought you were actually installing a swanee clone. I like it -- how did you make the bends?
The original swanee also had deflectors that went down the fork tubes a little ways. They helped keep the big chunks off the knees and shins. I've seen similar 'wings' attached to fork tubes with simple circle clamps.

The bends in the brackets were the easy part. I bent them by hand. Getting the deflectors to match the xl screen was the hard part.

That looks great Luap!!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Well done, Luap. A nice functioning windshield is great, but your setup even looks better!
-
I'll gladly pay you to make another set of wings? Interested?
-
You simply can’t over state the pleasure difference between good wind protection and bad. It’s just a darn shame we love a brand that we must fabricate almost any and every accessory we need and desire.
-
I was waiting for someone else to ask! I'd also pay for a pair of side wings.

For the Plexiglas challenged (like me) you can order them from an outfit in Europe. Takes 2-3 weeks to get parts, but the Isotta parts are high quality. I have their engine case guards, oil cooler cover and rear seat mounting plate.
