Saw them a few times in Chicago back in the 90's. Fun band, fun music and a great show.  RIP

One of my longtime favorites - I discovered zydeco about 20-25 years ago, and Buckwheat was one of the key parts of that enlightenment.

He's playin' there with Clifton Chenier now, at the great fais do-do...

Buckwheat Zydeco is an institution around here. I've seen him more often than I can keep track of. He did the New Orleans JazzFest every year and gigs locally a great deal. It's been a tough year for Louisiana musicians. I still miss Allen Toussaint and Pete Fountain was one of my dad's high school mates...

I finally got to see him in Gruene,Tx about 6-8 years ago. I threaten to go see him on Thanksgiving for many years at El Sid O's.
The first time I heard his music was when he did his version of Why does Love got to be so Sad with Eric Clapton on the guitar. Late 80's . Tremendous musician. He will be missed.

I associate zydeco with accordion and rub boards, which Stanley did.  What I didn't realize was what an accomplished Hammond B3 keyboardist he was.  (until I searched YouTube.)  All around great entertainer!
