I am getting the new Bambino (see other post on the 74 Eldo I recently acquired) on the road and have always wanted to put a solo seat on an Eldo. I think this might just be the right time. SO I am looking for recommendations and pictures of seats that are available and their source. Common guys - post em up.
Thanks

Best $30 - $150 ebay solo saddles are HD police seats. All the colors and all the styles -- look tractor, vintage, modern, or fringe . . . . Paint Moto Guzzi on the back and you're good to go!

Not if you're looking for something you can just bolt on. Fabrication of the mounting points WILL be necessary.

You say that like being able to mount a seat in the position you like it is a bad thing. For the question, it's a given. :undecided:
The OP was asking what his alternatives are, not what bolts up. The first two posts about covered it. He can have a moped seat from one outlet, a plastic-panned knockoff with questionable stuffing from another, or one the HD police solo saddles. Those are the common choices. For a LOT of money he can buy a repop cover and have one re-invented inside it. It won't have the proper pan, so it would still need fabrication for mounts (think pipe clamps). Or for less than $100 he can get into one of the many styles of police solo saddles available that need more or less of an effort to mount (I'd go with less), find a quality unit in the color, cushy, and style he likes, and spend the afternoon with a block of wood and the drill press . . . . Some of those seats come complete with the hinges, springs, brackets, etc. Makes it even easier.

I bought a HD police seat at a bike swap meet for $15 once. The stitching broke in the seam. I took the cover off, replaced the insert that said HD and put it back together. Fabbed up a couple of brackets and used it on my '73. LOVED that seat!
Traded it to a friend for an original springer solo saddle.

I'm currently waiting on a corbin gentry "replica" seat...an old HD type although not a police seat....
I've used this seat on two previous bikes and love it....gonna have to fab brackets and a spring but winter's coming......

Seats are easy to find. Mounting it is another story. Depending on the seat, you might have to fabricate your own mounts.

I invite you to check out the Harper's solo saddle that is made to fit your Eldo. No fabrication of mounts, it is a comfortable seat that is good quality proper seating position and it has a super strong fiberglass pan that will never rust or break.
The price is good too.

I'm running a Harpers saddle on my ambo. I have no complaints, and it looks great.

I like tractor shape seats. But, those HD replicas have almost no padding in them. Ok for an hour or two, but, more than that and they hurt me.
If I were looking for a loop seat I'd get one from Harpers or have a custom made for me.

I kept the 1954 Harley solo seat when I sold my '54 Harley, and tried to use it on my Eldorado. Terrible. 30 minutes at most and I was hollering 'calf rope'.
I've got two "Teutonic QSL 1000 Mile Day" seats with mounts now, though, and next time I have a bike that's looking for solo seats, I'm in ....

My '71 Ambo "Barney" has a Harper's solo seat on it, installed by the previous owner. I've done 12 hour days with only minimal discomfort. Easily the most comfortable seat on any of my bikes, past or present. I like it well enough that I bought a used one from "bigbikerrick" here on WG for my '69 Ambo.
