"mcgregor_ewan Please send positive vibes to my mate Uncle Moe. He was hit by a driver who ran a red and took him out. He's very badly hurt and could use our love....''

Cycle Garden. Moe is the supplier of Moto Guzzis to the Hollywood crowd. Bummer. Nice guy.

Such a tragedy. He's lucky to be alive, and facing a tremendous recovery challenge. All my best to you Moe, we're all pulling for you.
-
That sucks. Moe's a great guy. My best wishes to him.
-
Always sad to here this kind of news. I don't know moe but have always admired his craftsmanship. Hope you heal quickly moe.
-
Terrible news, I met Moe last year, be was very gracious, took the time to give me a great tour of his shop and bikes, a real nice guy!
I hope he recovers as quickly as possible.

I'm not tied in to the California scene, but I'd sure contribute to Moe's cause if someone out there is collecting funds. I hope someone will let us know if there's a crowd funding deal or whatever those are called.
When I was having trouble getting my Ambassador titled, the State Patrol did a Google search, found Moe as the authority on old Guzzis, and called him. Although there was nothing in the deal for him, Moe took the time to explain Guzzi titles to the cop. He's a real asset to the Guzzi community.

Good gosh!
I consider Moe a friend. Saw him last at John Schwartz'Schwartz's funeral.
Please send him my best wishes and please post if possible an address to send cards and stuff.
Thanks,
Tom

Sorry to read this about Moe, and as above, wishing him a fast recovery.

Every time I look at my Eldo with dual disks, I think of Moe and the quality spacer he sold me making the conversion from single disk super easy.
Get well ASAP!

Terrible news...and I very sad to hear this.
Met him once at the 2008 National Rally in Malibu. A nice guy and true Guzzisti all around.
Please get well quickly Moe...and prayers to you and your family sent from Red Rock country...

I've not had the pleasure of talking with him but he and his family and friends are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Met Moe once. Seemed like an OK guy. Sad to hear this. Didn't he have a cancer scare a few years ago?
-
Really sad to hear Moe was in an accident. Wishing him a speedy recovery!
-
All the best to Moe for a full recovery...

I agree very much. I had a similar experience with Moe where he took the time to help out. I wish him and his family all the best.
-
Well, that's terrible. I hope for a speedy recovery.
I never have met Moe, but have talked over the phone with him and he was informative and generous with his time.
-
Tell Moe the crew is already fighting over his stuff. That should snap him out of it!
Sorry about that, Moe, and best hopes for a speedy recovery.
-
Yeah, that'll get him down to the shop in short order!
Heal well, let us know if there is anything we can do for you.
-
We need all the good Guzzi folks we can get. Get well Moe!

He's not taking messages on his cell, but I sent a text, see if anything comes back.
His man at the shop described the crash, pretty bad, lot of broken bones, perhaps some lost fingers. It's going to be a long road.
If he calls me when they take him out of the induced coma, will report back if he says it's ok.

Keep us apprised Joe , always hate to hear of bad crashes . Get well Moe .

Put him in a coma............... that's not good. I was put in a coma after falling off a ladder. I'm OK now(kinda) but it took a long time to get this way. :blank:
-
Still no word. Cell phone not accepting voice messages, not sure whether text actually being seen by anyone.
Can call the shop but did that once already, don't really want to bug them, might be a privacy issue anyway.
If anybody else out there is tighter with the family...??

Mark Etheridge seems to be connected. Try him.

Here's an update post from the NE Guzzi forum:
Just got off the phone with Steve at Cycle Garden. He’d just returned from seeing Moe at the hospital and told me that Moe had just been taken out of the induced coma that they’d put him in due to his injuries.
Steve said that he and Moe were riding together when a woman blew through a red light doing 50 to 60 mph and nailed Moe who flew about 30 feet in the air. His pelvis and numerous ribs were broken, some vertebrae were damaged, as was his spleen. The thumb and two fingers on his left hand were also severed. The doctors were able to reattach the fingers, but not the thumb.
Steve told me that Moe is better, but is still pretty beat up and suggested I call back in a week and he’ll give me the hospital info which I will share when I get it.
He’s alive, thank God. It’s crazy out there, reduce risk.
-
Damn, he is lucky to be alive.

My biggest fear when riding is getting t-boned from the side like that; I've come close several times but not been hit.
Heal up well, Moe. You must be one tough bugger.
-
That's a bad one ............. was that an in city intersection or suburb?
Regards to all.
-
Bought a bike from him over the phone and had it shipped, cool guy.
-
Well if the woman ran the red light I damn well hope she was well insured! You can't run a business, especially one that involves using hand tools with only one thumb.
Bastard.
-
Well, what I'm a gonna do is send a card for Moe to the shop. They can bring it to Moe, I'm sure.
I would hope that many of us here would do the same.

Got a photo of Moe at the hospital, looking ok, from his wife. Will post it once I get permission.
Seems to be on the mend.
