Dead cheap.

So shiny.

Dead cheap.
SO cheap I suspect a scam ... I wonder if someone is playing on our new-found admiration of HD&M EVs?
Or could just be someone needs $1600 this week and can't afford to fool around. That's going to a lot of miles per dollar for some forward-looking buyer!

603 is the area code for NH. He did list his phone number in the ad and location. Maybe it's been sitting too long.

And the riding season there is about over.

Excuse Book Page 3 para. 2 - "I just paid for a new roof on the front porch and am way behind for a couple of months."
Excuse Book Page 4 para. 3 - "I just put an $800 set of tires on the Subaru".
Excuse Book Page 4 para. 4 - "I just paid $1000 for wheels and parts for the old Brits"
Excuse Book Page 5 para. 6 - "I have eight bikes in the shed now and only 3 on the road"
Those are my excuses; what are everyone else's? We always complain that we can't get anything for our bikes when we go to sell them, but everyone else is asking a fortune for them .... ?

"Bait and switch"? You mean the bike isn't really for sale at that price? The Craigslist ad is pretty clear ....

Yup...and that one wasn't $1600😁😁😁

However that is a good price for a low mileage V7 Racer.

This one has scam wrote all over it!

End result of a bait and switch may not be a scam but the method is.

There are only 9 numbers in the phone number on the CL ad not 10.

He could be engaged in a practice called 'curbing', where a salesman sells something on the side and not through the dealership. It's (shall we say) frowned upon by most dealership owners and the industry overall, and if done by someone other than the owner or manager usually results in dismissal. If done by the owner or manager, you have to ask why they didn't run the bike through the dealership, and whether there are things that they might not want on the business records.

I search all through NH craigslist and could not find said bike, just saying.

You can get the full phone number by clicking the "Reply" button at the top of the ad.
I did this and texted Dom with a clear expression of interest. I haven't heard back but I'm a buyer if the deal is legit. Stay tuned...

Really, type in Guzzi, hit enter I found it on the Maine CL but the site does list the items of the same type that are requested and happen to be nearby, hence NH...

Really, I did that and the bike still don't show up, unless the other bikes are close enough for you. Nothing on craigslist for that bike that I can find.

(A) Why would someone offer a bike for $1600 that we all know would be a deal at $3000?
Answer - If he wanted to sell it by the end of the day.
Has the bike been sold yet? Doesn't look like it. So something's wrong.
If I offered my fully-equipped, fully serviced Stelvio for $2400, and it was still there 4 days later, you'd know something wasn't right ....

Oh, man, I JUST now sold that one to another guy. But I've got a very similar one here that I'll let go for the bargain price of $8500 ....
Small bills please ....

Not really surprised that this is a hoax, or outrightt scam. although CL has great opportunities some days, it is rife with spam, fraud, scams and outright criminal behavior.
A few years ago, there was a bike theft ring that would answer your CL ad for a MC, ATV,dirt bike etc., take a look at your vehicle and the way it's stored. After scoping out the situation, would come back and steal the machine. I believe that they were finally caught after some good police work.

"Casing the joint" is an old one from way back in the newspaper Classified Ad days, or an ad in Walneck's or Cycle Trader. It's why people used to block out their license tag numbers on photos. I don't think that craigslist has made that one worse. Maybe more widespread since it has a wider range ....
