Howdy, mates! New owner here. :grin:
I've been wanting a Breva ever since I first saw one on ebay last year. I bought a new CB500X this Spring to replace the 650 Vstrom that was starting to feel too top heavy for me. Also owned a few Beemers, a Yamaha XT250 etc. I've been doing 2 or 3 week trips to the Atlantic Maritimes for the past 5 years, solo until I found a good riding mate (he was on his R1150RT) this summer and we enjoyed Cape Breton and Bay of Fundy.
Anyway, as great a bike as the X is, it just doesn't "stir my soul". I would go out and detail my K100 and Vstrom and just hang out with them. The X is more like a tool. Matte finish, trendy graphics on the tank and so on. I do keep it clean but I don't stand back and admire it. I looked at one Breva to see how they rode. It had a leaky final drive and a battery drain from the caution light not going out with the key off. But after a few miles on it, I knew I had to have one.
So I found a beauty Tuesday a couple hours away. It's a red, '07 with 7,600 miles, MG hard bags, touring screen and tank bag. And in I brought cash and a plate and after a slow walk around and a short test drive, I was putting the plate on it like a little kid!
I'm wanting some parts to help make it fit me better and wondering if anyone can help me source some bar risers. I'd like to sit a little more upright. I'd also like to fit a center stand to the bike. Any options other than ordering one from the dealer?
And lastly, the mirrors aren't wide enough for me to see behind me. What do folks do? Extenders? Bar ends?
The bike came with a low seat and I"m hoping to find someone who would like to trade for a standard height. I've posted that in the flea market section.
I'll post some pictures when I get a chance. I'm glad to be a part of this tribe, and hope to be able to contribute after I've learned a fair bit more.

Bar risers - some owners of other models have put these on - the GRiSO, Norge & V11's in particular - search grisoghetto.com & v11lemans.com & here for particular solutions.
Centrestand - the OEM one is likely best - check out the prices at the dealers in your country, then compare with agostinimadello.com (they are getting low on stock on the 750 stand), TLM (http://www.tlm.nl/webshop/en/) & Stein-Dinze.
If it's a 750 Breva you have, lots of useful info on the MG750 yahoo site.

I had Aprillia mirrors on a Vstrom, but didn't realize they had a longer sideways stalk. Excellent! Thanks for the link.
I am really loving this bike and looking forward to wracking up some serious miles.

I think if mine had been an inch shorter, I'd still be riding it. That motor and tranny are superb!

I wiggle my shoulders a little for the mirror problem. :grin:
Never putt a centre stand on it.
Bike fits me like a glove. Handle bars are standard.
Only thing I have added are extended heat shields made of rolled perf heavy gauge stainless after my :thewife: cooked the heels off two pairs of boots.
Had it 12 years now. Love it. :thumb:

There's a bloke over on the ADV forum who has a factory low seat he'd like to swap for a stock one if anybody's interested?

Hi.
As I too am a relatively new Breva owner, I think you'll like the bike. I added the stock MG center stand, which I consider essential for any bike. I also added after market mirrors on longer stalks so that I could actually see something other than my chest in the mirrors. My bike has a few eccentricities which I enjoy trying to sort out.
You'll find this site and the folks here a wonderful resource as you get to know your machine. Don't be shy about asking questions.
