Post by: hannibal smith on October 10, 2016, 04:51:24 PM
2009 V7 Classic-

How do you access/remove (whatever the process) the ECU for a re-flash?

Why remove it? Plug in Guzzidiag and do it on the bike. Probably plenty of map options available by now, it's just a 15M-RC.

Remove the seat. On the side opposite the battery and between the relays & the fuses there should be a black & green plug poked down into the guts. That connects with the cables (best from Lonelec) & hence to your laptop with Guzzidiag installed. There are other posts here with photos of the plug & lots on the use of Guzzidiag.

Disconnect batt 1st, ecu is under RH sidecover. Unplugs easily from harness, 4 screws hold it on.

I won't argue the Guzzidiag method at all, but if the OP isn't comfortable doing it and wants to send it to someone to do it... GuzziSteve has him covered.

Yeah, Chuck, but if the op never mentions any of that, how is anyone supposed to know?
